Donelson Animal Hospital has been part of the Donelson community since 1955, caring for generations of local pets and families. That history matters to us, and we are proud to continue serving the neighborhood with the personal, welcoming approach people expect from a community veterinary practice.
In late 2025, Nashville Cat Rescue took over management of the hospital with a vision for strengthening both the practice and the support available to animals throughout Middle Tennessee. The relationship brings the rescue’s compassion, advocacy, and community-minded values into the hospital while allowing Donelson Animal Hospital to continue caring for dogs, cats, and the people who love them.
Since then, we have been investing in the future of the hospital by updating the facility, expanding services, and building a veterinary team focused on thoughtful, dependable care. That includes welcoming Dr. Elinor Balboa as our lead veterinarian, along with new team members who share our commitment to clear communication, kindness, and treating every patient as an individual.
We are excited about what comes next, but our goal remains simple: to provide high-quality veterinary care in a place that feels familiar, approachable, and connected to the community. You can learn more about the rescue work that helps shape our values at Nashville Cat Rescue.
